Food Make’s me happy!

When I was growing up I remember a saying my grandmother always said… a great plate of food along with good company always makes the day end well.

I can remember looking in the refrigerator  and seeing nothing but a frozen chicken and some vegetables and saying , man there is nothing to eat, and by the end of the day, my grandmother would have a  full course meal on the table. I never knew how she did it,  but when our family came over I understood why. It was the sound of the family laughing and telling stories that we love to hear over and over again. It was all of  our problems left at the door , so we could all sit down to a meal as a family  and enjoy what was really important to us, Family !!!

After the meal was done and everyone went home, I would ask my grandmother why she would spend a entire day cooking only for the meal to be done in  a hour…. And my grandmother would look at me and say, Food makes me happy and watching my family laugh and smile while eating my food, makes’s my heart grow…

So from time to time my grandmother would cook a fabulous meal for all who would come and she would always tell the same old jokes and for some reason’s everyone would laugh as if that was the first time they heard the joke. When she passed away , the one thing everyone remember was her jokes, her delicious plate of food and her warm heart.

As tradition goes no matter if  we are eating out or enjoying a home cook meal as long as we are enjoying it with family, food will always make you happy!

Just the other day I was sitting down eating at Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant with my sister-in-law talking about life and a memory came to me of my grandmother, seasoning her food and laughing and oh yeah telling her jokes…… because of my grandmother I understand sitting down to a plate of food with your family is much more then the plate of food, it’s the very special time you spend with your love ones…..

*** Awesome restaurant Mi Pueblo Mexican Restaurant I give them 4 Donna stars, I had the Seafood burrito it was well seasoned they would of gotten 5 star’s but the garnish was a little salty for my taste ,but I would recommend this dish for a nice night out with the girls with a glass of white wine…..
